Birth Trauma Coaching
At some time, in most of our lives, we will survive some kind of traumatic event.
For me, it happened in my early teens and I spent many years experiencing nightmares, avoidance, anxiety and depression as a result.
After the birth of my baby, I felt very isolated, became depressed and felt like I was living in a constant state of hyper-vigilance which was utterly exhausting.
I hated leaving the house, had very little patience with my daughter and during the darkest times wished I had never become a mother.
The help I sought, helped a bit. I was prescribed anti-depressants which I declined to take, instead taking a course in Emotional Freedom Therapy with Neurolinguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Life Coaching.
Then I discovered a brand new technique based on neurokinesis and within two sessions I made the connection that birthing my daughter had triggered my childhood trauma and I experienced a powerful unlocking of repressed emotion which, because of the technique I’d been taught, I was able to manage and sooth.
After 28 days of practicing the technique, I felt lighter and less afraid. I slept better and, most delightfully, I was absolutely rejoicing in being with my daughter again and parenting from a place of calm and absolute compassion.
Sometimes the birthing process can be very challenging and result in difficult feelings of anxiety, loss, grief and sometimes even trauma.
Perhaps the birth itself was traumatic or triggered feelings of past trauma.
I work with women and their families using a gentle, non-verbal, proven method to help support recovery from trauma and the associated symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
